We spoke with the founder of the Ancient + Brave supplement line about books, playlists, secret places, and the virtues of this protein.
It was only fitting that Kate Prince would create the best collagen on the market. This lawyer with a brilliant resume left one of London's most prestigious law firms to create her own supplement brand. Chefs, nutritionists, and Hollywood naturopath Annielie Whitfield came together on this project that addresses not only aging but wellness. Prince doesn't believe anyone needs Botox; rather, she advocates for aging gracefully and naturally. Her collagen supplements have been created to awaken your body's true potential (and achieve hydrated, elastic, and glowing skin along the way).
Why take collagen?
Collagen is a structural component of skin, bones, cartilage, and connective tissue. Naturally occurring levels in the body decrease as we age. Oxidative stress damage generated by pollutants, metabolic toxins, and harmful free radicals can significantly contribute to premature and accelerated skin aging. Supporting and protecting collagen is vital to all skin renewal and anti-aging rituals.
What are the differences between Ancient + Brave collagen and other collagens?
Ancient + Brave True Collagen contains hydrolyzed collagen peptides that are up to 90% absorbed by the body.
What does this mean?
Collagen exists in nature as a complex molecule that is too large to be absorbed through the intestinal wall. This means it must be broken down during digestion into individual amino acids or much smaller units of two (dipeptide), three (tripeptide), or very short amino acid chains to be absorbed by the body.
In the True Collagen formula (and all our collagen supplements), the long polypeptide chains have been broken down into short peptide units (no longer than 5000 DA) that can be easily absorbed. This makes the collagen peptides available to contribute to collagen renewal in bones, skin, and connective tissue.
Why did you decide to supplement collagen through bovine and not marine?
Grass-fed bovine is odorless, tasteless, and highly absorbable. It's preferable to use it, as the taste and texture of marine collagen can often be a bit "challenging," and it definitely wouldn't pair well with our delicious protein supplements. coffee or cocoa .
How long will it take to see results on the skin?
We have so many incredible testimonials, especially about True Collagen, which helps skin look more nourished and hydrated. I'd love for everyone to see the benefits within a few weeks, but it may take a little longer. Typically, it takes 2 to 3 months to experience the full benefits.
How much True Collagen can we take in a day?
If you take collagen as part of your daily beauty routine, we recommend taking approximately 10g of True Collagen. You can add it to tea, your cup of coffee, mix it with water, or add it to your favorite smoothie. The best thing about True Collagen is that it's completely odorless, tasteless, and dissolves instantly, making it incredibly easy and versatile to incorporate into your daily diet.
What if we are following an intermittent fasting protocol?
In that case, it's recommended that you stick to the 50-calorie limit provided by 3 teaspoons of True Collagen, which you can add to hot or cold water or mix with tea or coffee. This amount shouldn't break your fast.
