Raw , unprocessed , and with an unprecedented amount of MGO, the active ingredient in Manuka honey with exceptional antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. The Activist Manuka 1000+MGO version contains at least 1,000 mg of methylglyoxal . And, if that weren't enough, this beautiful jar also contains a high percentage of collagen, vitamins, and minerals.
Manuka honey is produced by bees that pollinate the Leptospermum scoparium flower, which grows wild in certain areas of New Zealand . Unlike other brands, Activist honey goes from hive to jar , with no pasteurization or dilution processes in between.
You can enjoy the benefits of the 1000+MGO version by the spoonful or apply it topically where needed. Its properties have been studied since the 1980s. These are the benefits they've discovered:
- Burns and wounds: The methylglyxal enzymes in honey create a natural hydrogen peroxide that acts as an antibacterial. Honey can relieve inflammation and pain, as well as heal wounds at any stage. Finally, it can stimulate wound healing and repair white blood cells.
- Digestion: Manuka is wonderful for supporting the natural digestive microbiome. It has a prebiotic effect that promotes the proliferation of healthy flora.
- Oral Health: For those looking to maintain healthy teeth and gums, manuka honey is the antidote. Due to its antibacterial and antimicrobial properties, it can kill plaque, improve, and prevent problems related to tooth decay and gingivitis. It's excellent when used as a mouthwash. It spreads easily across the gums and teeth, and since it's nontoxic, it can be swallowed with saliva.
- Immunity: Manuka honey has been shown to be effective against antibiotic-resistant microbes, promoting its healing powers against both internal and external pathogens. It can soothe sore throats, help calm coughs, and improve symptoms of the common cold. Manuka honey also helps people with acute sinus problems and allergies.
- Acne, eczema, and dermatitis: It has extraordinary healing properties for skin conditions. It can reduce redness and heal congested or inflamed skin such as eczema or psoriasis. Additionally, it can be used for its antibacterial properties on the skin by oxygenating the pores, which can draw out or reduce the number of bacteria in blemishes. This can dramatically improve acne-prone skin. You can use manuka honey as a daily face wash, a direct acne treatment, or make a mask and leave it on for a few minutes.
